Beyond Teaching Dance. Towards Building Independent Artists.

“Throughout my journey, I realised that while a Guru shows us the path, true mastery is built during the countless hours of Saadhana when a student practises alone. Those silent hours of discipline, observation, self-correction, and consistency are where an artist is truly shaped.

With Ayushvam, my intention was never to replace the Guru–Shishya tradition, but to strengthen it by empowering students to become active participants in their own growth. I wanted to create an institution that teaches students how to learn, not just what to learn.

Ayushvam serves as a catalyst—providing the right direction, values, structure, and mentorship while encouraging every student to cultivate discipline, curiosity, and independent practice. I believe that dance should never be viewed merely as a recreational activity or a weekend hobby. Bharatanatyam is a lifelong Saadhana, demanding patience, consistency, humility, and complete dedication.

More than producing performers, my vision is to nurture artists who understand the philosophy behind every movement, appreciate the richness of our cultural heritage, and continue their journey of learning long after the classroom ends. Because when students awaken their own internal guide, they no longer depend solely on instruction—they begin to take ownership of their art.”
